| Screwup in Mulegé Directions Kind of remarkable that the most glaring error I've found so far in the book has to with Mulegé, the town I know better than any other in Baja. In describing on p. 271 how to get to Agua Purificada La Misión without a trailer in tow, I say to turn right at the first four-way stop after entering town. Don't do that; you'll be going the wrong way down a one-way street. Instead, continue straight through the stop, pass Super Aqua 2000 and the La Tienda dive/tackle/gift/book shop on your left, then make an acute right at the Las Casitas hotel and restaurant. This street will take you to the central square (or zócalo). At the T-intersection at the zócalo, turn right. Make the mandatory left in about a car-length, and then turn left again toward the bridge. Sounds complex, but it's not. |
Check
out the new arch over the entrance to Mulegé. I suppose it's
meant to echo the architecture of the old prison.![]() Loreto's seemingly endless repaving project is finally finished, and the streets are now a sort of red cement with a stamped pattern that's supposed to look like pavers. ![]() |
